Included in backups
- All files in
public_htmland its subdirectories - All MySQL databases associated with your cPanel account
- Email accounts, mailboxes, and email forwarders
- cPanel configuration: DNS zone records, email filters, cron jobs, SSL certificates
Not included in backups
- Files stored outside your home directory
- Databases or accounts belonging to other cPanel users on the server
- Third-party cloud services connected to your site (e.g. external CDNs, image storage)
- Local email client data (email stored only on your device and never synced to the server)
Creating a manual backup
You can download a full backup of your account at any time from cPanel:
- Log in to cPanel and click Backup Wizard in the Files section.
- Click Back Up, then Full Backup.
- Select Home Directory as the backup destination and enter your email address for notification.
- Click Generate Backup. When complete, you will receive an email with a download link.
