Your free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate can be enabled from cPanel in under a minute.
Steps
- Log in to cPanel.
- Scroll to the Security section and click SSL/TLS Status.
- You will see a list of your domains. Domains without SSL show a yellow padlock icon.
- Tick the checkbox next to the domain you want to secure, then click Run AutoSSL.
- AutoSSL contacts Let's Encrypt and installs the certificate. This usually takes 1–2 minutes.
Note: AutoSSL only works after your domain is correctly pointed to Vumacloud's servers. If DNS is still propagating, wait up to 48 hours and try again.
Forcing HTTPS (redirecting HTTP to HTTPS)
After enabling SSL, redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS. In cPanel, go to Domains → your domain → Manage → Force HTTPS Redirect and toggle it on.
Alternatively, add these lines to your .htaccess file in public_html:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]
Let's Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days and renew automatically — you do not need to renew them manually.
