Configuring SPF and DKIM for Better Deliverability Print

SPF and DKIM are DNS records that prove your email is legitimately sent from your domain. Without them, your emails are more likely to land in spam.

Checking and fixing email authentication in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. In the Email section, click Email Deliverability.
  3. Find your domain in the list. If the status shows any issues, click Repair.
  4. cPanel will automatically generate and install the correct SPF and DKIM records.
  5. Click Install the suggested record for each record type flagged as invalid or missing.

After repairing, allow up to 30 minutes for DNS changes to propagate before testing email delivery again.

Why my emails go to spam

If your emails are going to spam even with SPF and DKIM set correctly, check:

  • Your email content does not contain spam trigger words or excessive links.
  • You are not sending bulk email — use a dedicated email marketing service (such as Mailchimp or Brevo) for newsletters.
  • Your sending IP is not on a blocklist — check at mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx.
